APG 0814CM (APG2000UP)
Production Introduction
Decyl Glucoside APG 2000UP, also known as alkyl polyglycoside APG 2000UP or decyl glucoside, is a non-ionic surfactant synthesized from renewable plant materials. With the chemical formula C16H32O6, it boasts low surface tension, strong detergent power, good solubility, and thickening effects. Additionally, it is resistant to high temperatures, strong alkalis, and high-concentration electrolytes. Widely applied in personal care products (such as shampoos and body washes), household detergents, and industrial cleaning, it exhibits synergistic effects when blended with various surfactants. It is gentle on skin, non-toxic, non-irritating, and possesses excellent biodegradability.

Comprehensive Overview of APG 0814CM's Properties and Applications
Improved Low-Temperature PerformanceAPG 0814CM exhibits improved low-temperature behavior due to the content of lower alkyl chain glucosides, allowing it to be stored and processed at lower temperature levels (>5°C). This makes its application in cold environments more convenient and reliable.
Easy FormulationAPG 0814CM can be easily formulated because it does not exhibit a gel phase upon dilution. By reducing the pH value, for example, with citric acid to below 8.5, the cloudiness specific to the product disappears, thereby also enabling the formulation of clear products.
Viscosity AdjustmentAqueous solutions of APG 0814CM cannot be thickened by the addition of NaCl. However, when combined with anionic surfactants, the viscosity can be improved through electrolyte addition.
Dishwashing PerformanceAPG 0814CM provides excellent dishwashing performance, especially when used in combination with anionic and amphoteric surfactants. This makes it well-suited for the manufacture of manual dishwashing agents. In manual dishwashing formulations, APG 0814CM exhibits an equivalent performance to APG 1214, coupled with the added benefit of improved low-temperature behavior.
Detergent PerformanceAdditionally, APG 0814CM offers good detergent performance when used in surfactant systems for a wide variety of household and institutional cleaning products, such as hard surface cleaners and liquid laundry detergents.
Skin CompatibilityAPG 0814CM exhibits excellent skin compatibility and is not classified as "irritating to skin." By substituting a portion of generally more irritating anionic surfactants with APG 0814CM, a formulation with improved mildness and excellent cleaning performance will be obtained. It's important to note that APG 0814CM contains no preservatives. Below a pH of 11.5, APG 0814CM is no longer sufficiently protected against microbial contamination, which means the end formulation must be preserved in a suitable way.
Application SuitabilityAPG 0814CM is well-suited for the manufacture of manual dishwashing agents and a wide variety of household and institutional cleaning products. It exhibits very low dermal irritation and is classified as "non-irritating to skin" (no R38 phrase), making it especially suitable for concentrated formulations.
Storage and transportation
Storage ConditionsAPG 0814CM should be stored in sealed, original containers, protected from frost and maintained below 43°C to ensure a minimum shelf life of at least two years. The recommended maximum storage temperature for APG 0814CM is 43°C. When heating the product, avoid prolonged localized temperatures above 43°C to prevent potential discoloration. If possible, use tempered water during the heating process. Low-pressure steam can be used if the product is monitored regularly.
Bulk Storage MaterialsFor bulk storage materials, carbon steel should not be used to store or handle APG 0814CM due to the risk of iron contamination. Instead, it is recommended to use plastic drums or Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Both are acceptable storage solutions.
